Press Week

Press week sounds like a real thing, but (in this context, at least) it’s just me realizing I’ve been in the papers more this past week than most. Girls Rock Detroit and George Montrelle hooked me up with this Voyage Michigan feature, and the Fringe Festival media team with the Northern Advocate and The Big Idea (above). I’m constantly amazed by what an activated community can do, and SO grateful!

I have followed The Big Idea as an arts and culture magazine in NZ since arriving, and to be quoted and promoted in this publication makes my heart sing! I’m doubly excited to talk about Pay What You Can and how I’m functioning as an indie artist in and post COVID.

Whangarei Fringe Festival kicks off TODAY with What the Folk!? Whangarei – a mini folk festival curated by Maggie Cocco Music. As in Ireland, this family friendly weekend of workshops, performances, and community is centered around the pub! Many thanks to the Irish Wolf – Northland’s only Irish pub – for working with us! Featuring an Instrument Petting Zoo, Folk Music Community Meeting, and Whangarei’s first folk supergroup (for which I’ll be singing bv’s)! See links above for more.

Keep an eye on the socials! All the exciting things are in the next few weeks 👇
