Tada! The official video featuring artwork by San Francisco based artist, Taylor Ruffin!

About “That Man”:
Written to be a “pick me up” for a man I once loved. Like many of us, he works his ass off to barely make ends meet. Lately, the blues I’ve written here seems to highlight the parallels between today’s economy for the working poor, and a time when the blues was coming into prominence in the United States. The artwork by Taylor Ruffin is a nod to history’s great female blues singers, A la Etta James, Nina Simone, Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt, etc.
Lyrics:
I love my working man
He does the best he can
I love my working man
With everything I am
I love that man
I love that man
He gives it all he’s got
Don’t let nobody say he’s not
He gives it all he’s got
And baby, that’s a lot
I love that man
I love that man
If it takes all night,
I’m still gonna try
To make him see
He has all my love
And the good God above
Made me to love him, yeah
I love my working man
He does the best he can
I love my working man
With everything I am
I love that man
I love that man
If it takes all night,
I’m still gonna try
To make him see
He has all my love
And the good God above
Made me to love him
He’s got my heart and soul
And baby, I’m no fool
He’s got my heart and soul
And baby, I’m no fool
Except for that man
Except for that man
I love that man
I love that man
I love that man
I love that man.
